The non-profit association Arena Bjuröklubb is run by passionate people. In 2021 we celebrated our 20th anniversary. Until 2024, the association operated at Bjuröklubb's Lighthouse with a café, accommodation and conference. Every year, 10-15 young people aged 15 and up were hired for our summer café. The association rented the premises from the Västerbotten County Board, which owns the land and buildings. We welcome old and new members to our association. Welcome!

Become a member

The association has about ninety members, most of whom have some connection to Bjuröklubb or Lövånger. As a member, you have member benefits, for example a discount on overnight accommodation, and you are invited to member meetings.

Our young people

Arena Bjuröklubb is very proud of our young people who have worked in the café during the summer semester. Since its inception, the association has employed, trained and given over 200 young people aged 15 and up valuable work experience. Every summer we employed between 10-15 young people. Many of the employees have lived in the immediate area, or commuted from Skellefteå, Lövånger, Bureå, Burvik and Burträsk.

The development project Arena Bjuröklubb 2021

Arena Bjuröklubb ran a development project in local food craft in collaboration with Skellefteå Älvdal and the EU in 2021. The purpose of the project was to promote local entrepreneurs and food artisans who, in collaboration with the association Arena Bjuröklubb, increase accessibility and interest in local products and our cultural heritage. The county board in Västerbotten and Skellefteå municipality has had two projects in the past, in 2010 and 2005 with the aim of developing the area. As part of the project, Arena Bjuröklubb also produced one introduction plan for young people we hire for work.

Arena Bjuröklubb's sustainability policy

Arena Bjuröklubb preserves, uses and enriches the nature and culture of the Bjuröklubb area. We contribute to economic development that develops local culture and local vitality and encourages visitors to shop for local products and experiences rooted in the area's lifestyle and culture.

Our business conveys knowledge with local roots in the area and we collaborate with the local community and landowners. The experiences offer genuine insight into the area's history and culture. Our experiences have high security and risks are analyzed to minimize accidents. Alternatives are offered in case of unforeseen events.

We create joy and quality of life for our visitors and we carry out annual follow-ups to constantly improve with this sustainability policy as a starting point.

The association's history

The association Arena Bjuröklubb was formed on November 4, 2001. One of the association's goals is to contribute to a development where the resources of the Bjuröklubb area are utilized. The association's hope is that the work will lead to employment for, among other things, young people. The association's motto: cultivate, preserve and enrich.
